This is a brilliant opportunity to work as part of the MEH Alliance on the prestigious Hinkley Point C Nuclear project. The alliance work across the project to integrate and coordinate the delivery of all main Mechanical, Electrical, Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning (MEH), cabling and associated support services. This innovative approach will help different contractors work as a single entity to deliver the complex installation of cabling and pipework in the power station’s vast network of rooms.

The role
As a Senior Construction Manager you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Being part of the MEH Alliance working on Hinkley Point C is a chance to be involved in a major project with national significance. You will ensure that the building is delivered on time, budget and quality whilst promoting onsite health and safety including inspections to ensure safety rules are being implemented in support of a positive Nuclear Safety Culture

 

Day-to-day, you’ll;

  • Provide and demonstrate a positive HSE leadership, building a strong and compliant HS&E culture throughout the whole construction life cycle of the Project. 
  • Manage all the day-to-day aspects of construction and site engineering ensuring that safe systems of work are adhered to. 
  • Manage the interfaces between the MEH partners and subcontractors to ensure building delivery 
  • Lead, manage and motivate the building construction team through implementation of best practice. 
  • Ensure productivity reviews are being carried out and reports are available Review of engineering design deliverables, procedures & RAMs. 
  • Ensure Management of Change for all Site activities are identified, justified and issued promptly via the Change Process. 
  • Ensure the early implementation of Completions (ORBIT) with direct interfacing with Completions leads. 
     

This role is full time, 37 hours per week, and is based on site at Hinkley Point C.

 

Essential experience of the Senior Construction Manager:

  • Relevant engineering qualification or equivalent working experience 
  • Relevant Professional Accreditation or equivalent working experience
  • IOSH or NEBOSH
  • Experience of operating within a highly regulated industry
  • Ability to build strong relationships with employees and contractors
     

Desirable experience of the Senior Construction Manager:

  • Previous experience of Joint Venture Partnerships
     

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) clearance for this role.
