Summary


We have vacancies for an enthusiastic and hardworking apprentice electricians at our contract at Hinkley Power Station - Tasks include all elements required to become an electrician including installing containment, wiring, testing and health and safety.


Wage: £19,090 a year


Overtime is available site will advise the working pattern. We offer a fantastic range of benefits including: Online benefit package for all employees, Bike to Work Scheme, Holiday trading scheme and latest technology at affordable prices


Training course :   Installation and maintenance electrician (level 3)

Hours :   Monday - Friday, Working pattern set at site level plus overtime when applicable. Shifts to be confirmed.
37 hours 30 minutes a week

Possible start date: Monday 8 September
Duration: 4 years


Work


As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.


What you’ll do at work

 

  • Full installation on large projects at Hinkley power station
  • Installing electrical systems
  • Testing electrical systems 
  • Fault finding


Where you’ll work: Hinkley Point C Power Station, Bridgwater, TA5 1YA


Training


An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.


College or training organisation: BRIDGWATER AND TAUNTON COLLEGE

Installation and maintenance electrician (level 3) Equal to A level


Course contents

 

  • Your training plan
  • The apprenticeship training will be provided by Bridgwater College and full onsite support as well as mentoring from our central learning and development team and past apprentices
  • Following the completion of the Apprenticeship, the successful candidate will receive a installation electrician and maintenance electrician level 3 qualification
  • Functional Skills in English and maths if required
  • You will become a Gold Card JIB Electrician

GCSE or equivalent in:

 

  • Science (grade C or 4 and above)


GCSE in:

 

  • English (grade C or 4 and above)
  • Maths (grade C or 4 and above)
  • Let the company know about other relevant qualifications and industry experience you have. They can adjust the apprenticeship to reflect what you already know.
