Job Responsibilities
- Project Leadership: Oversee all aspects of the project lifecycle from planning to execution and completion.
- Electrical Infrastructure Expertise: Manage electrical works, including substation build, high-voltage cable installation, and associated civil works.
- Contract & Budget Management: Ensure project delivery within the agreed budget and contractual obligations.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Work closely with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure project alignment with requirements and expectations.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all site activities comply with HSE regulations and company safety policies.
- Scheduling & Reporting: Develop detailed project schedules, track progress, and provide regular reports to senior management.
- Resource Management: Oversee the workforce, subcontractors, and material procurement to meet project timelines.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure project continuity.
- Quality Control: Ensure all electrical and civil works are completed to the highest quality standards.
Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certification.
- IOSH/NEBOSH qualification (preferred).
- TP137 (National Grid Person/Competent Person) certification (desirable).
- Experience working on National Grid or DNO (Distribution Network Operator) projects.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Senior Project Manager in electrical infrastructure projects, particularly high-voltage substations and cabling.
- Strong technical background in 132Kv/11Kv substations and associated cable route installations.
- In-depth knowledge of CDM regulations, HSE compliance, and quality standards.
- Experience managing civil works, including drainage, foundations, and structural steelwork.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong ability to manage project budgets, contracts, and schedules effectively.
- Familiarity with industry standards and best practices.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and nights, as required.
