Job Responsibilities

 

  • Project Leadership: Oversee all aspects of the project lifecycle from planning to execution and completion.
  • Electrical Infrastructure Expertise: Manage electrical works, including substation build, high-voltage cable installation, and associated civil works.
  • Contract & Budget Management: Ensure project delivery within the agreed budget and contractual obligations.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Work closely with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure project alignment with requirements and expectations.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all site activities comply with HSE regulations and company safety policies.
  • Scheduling & Reporting: Develop detailed project schedules, track progress, and provide regular reports to senior management.
  • Resource Management: Oversee the workforce, subcontractors, and material procurement to meet project timelines.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure project continuity.
  • Quality Control: Ensure all electrical and civil works are completed to the highest quality standards.

 


Qualifications

 

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certification.
  • IOSH/NEBOSH qualification (preferred).
  • TP137 (National Grid Person/Competent Person) certification (desirable).
  • Experience working on National Grid or DNO (Distribution Network Operator) projects.

 


Experience

 

  • Proven experience as a Senior Project Manager in electrical infrastructure projects, particularly high-voltage substations and cabling.
  • Strong technical background in 132Kv/11Kv substations and associated cable route installations.
  • In-depth knowledge of CDM regulations, HSE compliance, and quality standards.
  • Experience managing civil works, including drainage, foundations, and structural steelwork.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong ability to manage project budgets, contracts, and schedules effectively.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and best practices.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and nights, as required.
