Commercial Manager - Supplier Performance and Relationship Management (Sizewell C)

Location:  Sizewell C Suffolk or London* with a minimum 2 days a week in the office. (hybrid working arrangements). 

Employment type: Permanent full-time/ part-time.
Employment basis: The role is expected to be a full- time position however we are open to discussing a more flexible or part- time approach where possible.
Salary: £50,000 to £65,000 dependent on experience, plus bonus and other benefits.


Sizewell C (SZC) is one of the largest infrastructure projects in the UK, whilst being at the forefront of the UK’s climate change agenda and energy policy.

This is an opportunity for you to join the expanding Supply Chain team at Sizewell C and be part of our mission in helping Britain achieve net zero. SZC is a Nuclear New Build project where when completed, will provide low carbon electricity for 6 million homes for 60 years in the UK. The SZC project has obtained planning approval and is seeking financing with a view to start construction in 2024.


The role of the Supply Chain function is to support the Projects Programme Delivery teams providing the highest standards of Commercial Management. A role currently exists for a Commercial Manager, Supplier Performance and Relationship Management.


This will entail working across the Supply Chain function to support the management and implementation and continued assurance of the Supplier Relationship Management strategy across Sizewell’s C’s strategic and critical supply base. 


If you have relevant experience in the facilitation of supplier management planning, implementation and improvement then this may be the role for you. Candidates should ideally have previous experience in this area and could come from within other business management sectors such as Aerospace, Power Generation, Manufacturing or other large infrastructure projects who are looking to develop their careers.

What you’ll be doing…

 

  • Delivering a consistent and documented approach to Supplier Relationship Management that can be applied across all works programmes for the Sizewell C project.
  • Assuring the integrity of the business strategy to Supplier Relationship Management is being maintained and that it takes into account best practice and learning from other projects and the wider nuclear business.
  • Ensuring performance of our Strategic and Critical suppliers is effectively measured, managed, and optimised accordingly through the use of KPI Dashboards and improvement plans.
  • Establishing and maintaining strong working relationships with key stakeholders across the Projects Commercial, Delivery and Engineering teams.
  • Providing subject matter support and advise to the Commercial teams responsible for Supplier Relationship Management planning, implementation, and management. 
  • Ensuring the criteria to meet business acceptance standards for Supplier Relationship management is monitored and upheld.
  • Providing regular assessment and assurance on all areas within Supplier Relationship Management such as key performance measure & analysis and continuous improvement for a consistent application as designed.

 
Who you are…


You are an individual who has ideally been operating in a Commercial / Supplier Manager role for at least 3 to 5 years with a specific emphasis on supplier performance oversight, planning, implementation and continuous improvement. You’ll be motivated, a self-starter and have pragmatic abilities and the ‘soft’ skills to work with internal Stakeholders, multiple disciplined teams and the supply base to drive successful delivery and adherence to Supplier Relationship Management.

* Sizewell C Limited will be moving offices from 90 Whitfield Street to 25 Copthall Avenue. 


25 Copthall Avenue is a modern building just a short walk from Moorgate and Liverpool Street stations. Sizewell C will occupy the whole of the 4th floor. We are targeting a move in February 2025.

This role will be contractually based at 25 Copthall Avenue. However, depending on the date of the move there may be a period that you will be required to work temporarily from our existing office at 90 Whitfield Street.
