Skills Bootcamp January 2022

Hinkley Support Operative (Bronze) Skills Bootcamp

The aim of the 3 week programme is to support those looking to leave the Armed Forces to gain the necessary skills and knowledge for transition into employment with employers on Hinkley Point C.

This is a fully funded programme, no funding is required from applicants.

The first new nuclear power station to be built in the UK in over 20 years; Hinkley Point C in Somerset will provide low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes, create thousands of jobs and bring lasting benefits to the UK economy. Construction and operation of Hinkley Point C will create 25,000 employment opportunities and up to 1,000 apprenticeships. The introduction of the Hinkley Point Support Operative role is as a result of EDF’s commitment to maximise opportunities to bring in new entrants and apprentices, develop their skills and replenish the UK Engineering Construction skills base. The Bronze HSO programme is being delivered before employment, further development opportunities may also be available. Following successful achievement of the programme, all applicants will be interviewed for potential Engineering Construction roles working on site at Hinkley Point C.

The Skills Bootcamp will be delivered at Train4All Construction & Engineering Academy, a dedicated Armed Forces Resettlement facility in Somerton conveniently located close to RNAS Yeovilton where accommodation can be obtained.
