What will I be doing? 

Managing and coordinating interim and staged temporary arrangements within COMA. We have 8 TWC's over operations, project and non-core projects.

•    Be able to make engineering decisions that will not be compromised by commercial, programme or other pressures
•    Ensure there is an up-to-date TW management plan that is reviewed and submitted 6 monthly, ensure latest guidance from the HSE in regard to CDM changes and BS5975 updates
•    Confirm and organize appointments of TWC's and TWS' ensuring the clients
•    appointment process is followed
•    Ensure the TW register is being managed by all the TWC's and carry out sample checks each month before it is uploaded to TC for client approval
•    Review and be familiar with all upcoming work (by involvement with project planning meetings, reviewing Risk Assessment Method Statements (RAMS) and so on) to confirm that all temporary works and temporary conditions of permanent works have been identified, and that all temporary work is properly designed and planned for
•    Have oversight of all TW's across the whole COMA group ensure each design is
•    checked prior to being issued to the construction teams
•    Ensuring the correct site procedures are being followed for the management of TW's this including the approval process for different categorisation
•    Attend weekly client TW coordination and interface meetings
•    Act at the focal point for all TW matters between client and other Tier 1 contractors, this including all audits internal and external
•    Ensure that a proper design brief has been produced, including those from
•    subcontractors and issued to COMA TWD
•    Advise the Permanent Works Designer of any temporary conditions or loads that are to be considered in the permanent works design
•    Ensure that a satisfactory temporary works design is carried out and act as the direct contact between the TWD and COMA group
•    Ensure that, where complex temporary works are split into several items on the TW Register, suitable design reviews are conducted, and checks are made on how the items interact and are coordinated
•    Ensure a Design Risk Assessment has been carried out and that any mitigation
•    responses are known to all parties, and sample checks are carried out
•    Check TWS are carrying out their inspections in line with process identified in the TWD


Qualifications and Experiences: 

•    Civil or Structural Engineering Qualification, minimum of an HNC/HND, preferably BEng or higher (MEng, MSc).
•    Extensive TWC experience below and above ground.
•    CSCS Card
•    CITB Temporary Works Coordinator Course
•    Completed SMSTS



•    Understanding and application of BS5975:2008+A1:2011/2019.
•    Thorough understanding and application of the CDM Regulations 2015


Annual Salary:

£50,000 - £60,000
