Opportunity for a Spider Crane Operator (CPCS A66) working with ENKA UK on the Hinkley Point C Project,


Main Responsibilities

 

  • Examining and assessing loads to determine the best way to move and lift them safely and efficiently.
  • Complete daily check list before moving the spider crane.
  • To drive / operate and control spider crane, stacker, tracked carrier while transporting within worksite and work purpose.
  • Should be efficient in lifting and lowering loads on spider crane with utmost safety.
  • Have knowledge of spider crane maintenance and its upkeep.
  • Charge spider crane, stacker, tracked carrier during his/her shift (electrical ones) and keep ready for next shift
  • Monitors information: includes materials, events, or environment; detects or assesses problems associated with equipment.
  • Inspects equipment: includes structures and materials; identifies causes of errors and other problems or defects.
  • Identifies information: includes categorizing, estimating, and recognizing differences or similarities in equipment; detects changes in circumstances or events.
  • Maintain the facilities equipment and materials in a neat, clean, orderly fashion.
  • Determine load weights and check them against lifting capacities in order to prevent overloading.
  • Assist in physical inventories.
  • Housekeeping of the work areas; collection, segregation and disposal of wastes as required; removal of unused materials and clear the work floors to eliminate/reduce slipping or tripping risks in your work area.
  • Safe use, protection, storage and care of general maintenance products, hand and power tools
  • Obey the duties and instructions given by supervisor.
  • Lift and move materials, machines or products in many directions
  • Clean, lubricate, and maintain mechanism such as cables, pulleys and grappling devices.
  • Running, maneuvering, navigating or driving equipment.
  • Interpret and use of International Hand Signaling for communication
  • Inspect cables and grappling devices for wear and install or replace cables as needed.


Qualifications/Experience : 

 

  • CPCS A66 Blue Card holder or NPORS Equivalent
  • Can achieve Security Clearance (BPSS)
  • Hold or Can achieve CCNSG Safety Passport or HS&E test Operatives
  • English knowledge in working level
  • Able to pass Safety Critical Medical Test
  • Hold or Can achieve IPAF 3A/3B and Pal Plus and Loading /Unloading certificates
  • Hold or Can achieve Harness Awareness and Work at Height training certificates
  • Hold or Can achieve Tracked Carrier and Stacker utilization certificates
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar position
