The SHEQ Advisor is an integral position within our business, as you will ensure we continue to deliver our objectives in a safe and compliant manner.




Where do you come in? 

This is a unique role for a talented SHEQ Advisor. Acting as a support to the SHEQ team and Head of SHEQ you will be working collaboratively with colleagues throughout the business. You will be responsible for supporting strategies, developing systems, monitoring performance and the provision of advice and support to ensure compliance with statutory and company requirements.



Your role will be to ensure our partners have achieved the correct standard of SHEQ, as well as ensuring priorities are established and systems are developed and up to date. You will continue to monitor and amend changes to our procedures and best practises, so we remain current at all times. Being a champion for health and safety, your engaging spirit will go hand in hand with keeping our colleagues engaged. You will be required to maintain an effective two-way communication with our colleagues, so they are compliant with their legal obligations and are comfortable to approach you. 



This role also brings an opportunity for you to drive continuous improvement with regards to the health and safety culture across the organisation by raising the profile and improve management and controls of the employee wellbeing aspect of health and safety.



The ideal candidate will possess an in-depth understanding of UK Health and Safety legislation. Not only will you hold a qualification in NEBOSH, you'll also hold a professional membership of recognised body (TechIOSH / GradIOSH) and possess knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001 & ISO 45001 standards.  It is desirable if the candidate holds training and/or experience in some of our activities, but not limited to: excavations, confined spaces, Working at height, working with foul/potable water, working in the highway



We are looking for someone who is used to working autonomously, capable of developing relationships with stakeholders with strong influencing skills. You will be comfortable in building credibility to achieve buy in for change and positively impacting an organisation's culture on health and safety. 



You will already be experienced and competent in managing a health and safety function, within some of the sectors we operate.
