Opportunity for a Rigger working with ENKA UK on the Hinkley Point C Project,


Main Responsibilities

 

  • Examining and assessing loads to determine the best way to move and lift them safely and efficiently.
  • Test rigging to ensure safety and reliability.
  • Attach loads to rigging to provide support or prepare them for moving, using hand and power tools.
  • Selecting the appropriate rigging equipment, such as cables, ropes, slings, chains, winches and pulleys according to load weights and sizes. and ensuring they are properly secured and in good condition.
  • Control movement of heavy equipment through narrow openings or confined spaces, using chain blocks, lever blocks, wire rope hoist and other equipment.
  • Operating the lifting equipment and guiding the load during movement.
  • Tilt, dip, and turn suspended loads to maneuver over, under, and/or around obstacles, using multi-point suspension techniques.
  • Align, level, and anchor machinery.
  • Set up rigging on supporting structures such as hoists, and pulling gear, using hand and power tools.
  • Manipulate rigging lines, hoists, and pulling gear to move or support materials.
  • Clean and dress machine surfaces and component parts.
  • Attach pulleys and blocks to fixed overhead structures such as beams, ceilings, and gin pole booms, using bolts and clamps.
  • Operate MEWPs to reach high rigging, de-rigging locations.
  • Operate Stackers, Tracked Carriers to move loads either direction including up and down.
  • Shall be accustomed to work in the rainy weather conditions with obey the HSE regulations at site.
  • Operate jacks and skates for moving loads.
  • Dismantle and store rigging equipment after use.
  • To assist other departments if needed.
  • Housekeeping of the work areas; collection, segregation and disposal of wastes as required; removal of unused materials and clear the work floors to eliminate/reduce slipping or tripping risks in your work area.
  • Safe use, protection, storage and care of general maintenance products, hand and power tools

  • Co-operate with others on health and safety, and not interfere with, or misuse, anything provided for your health, safety or welfare. 
  • Follow the training you have received when using any work items your employer has given you.


Qualifications/Experience : 

 

  • Level 3 Diploma in Moving Engineering Construction Loads or Engineering Construction Lifting, Positioning and Installing Structures, Plant and Equipment or 
  • ECITB Skills Diploma in Moving Engineering Construction Loads at SCQF Level 6 or 
  • ECITB Skills Test Alternative / Skills Test Number: TML03 or ACE Card
  • Can achieve Security Clearance (BPSS)
  • Hold or Can achieve CCNSG Safety Passport or HS&E test Operatives
  • English knowledge in working level
  • Able to pass Safety Critical Medical Test
  • Hold or Can achieve IPAF 3A/3B and Pal Plus and Loading /Unloading certificates
  • Hold or Can achieve Harness Awareness and Work at Height training certificates
  • Hold or Can achieve Tracked Carrier and Stacker utilization certificates
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar position
