Project Engineer
The MEH Allaince / Balfour Beatty 
Hinkley Point C 



•    Provide input, oversight and maturity review and acceptance of the handover from the RD at HO1 for the cabinets and boxes scope.
•    Ensure the reliability of the technical specification delivered by RD
•    Provide technical support to the supplier related to technical/qualification phase 
•    Provide the technical procurement specification TPS used for the supplier. 
•    Strong electrical knowledge and knowledge of I&C 
•    Execution Design Delivery and compliance with discipline workflows including driving KO meetings, Design Progress Reviews, Handover Readiness Reviews etc.
•    Ensuring Execution Design delivery to schedule including component qualification activities where applicable
•    Managing close out of design configuration issues (Open Points, Design Changes etc).
•    Manage delivery of batches to ensure efficient constructability close and Execution Design surveillance.
•    Execution Design HO2 R&A process drive and management 
•    RD CEL Liaison 
•    PWRT Liaison to ensure timely delivery of their ‘Review & Acceptance’ and ‘Assemble & Issue’ procedural responsibilities.
•    Support HO3 end of manufacture design management gate and design handover to installation and JDO including design inputs to the Erection Work Pack.
•    Assess and, where applicable, ensure implementation of Referential and Design Changes generated through the Configuration Management Board process.
•    Progress reporting to Project Engineering lead and Engineering Manager.
•    Any other specific duties that the Project Engineering Lead / Engineering Manager discharges to the Project Engineering.

Key Deliverables:    
•    Progress reporting to the Project Engineering Lead
•    Approved Execution Design deliverables at HO2 to enable progress into manufacture

Minimum Qualifications/ Experience 
(as per MEH matrix)

•    Minimum HNC in an engineering discipline. 
•    Experience of design / construction of large multi-discipline projects, understanding of engineering design delivery, understanding of cross-discipline relationships, interfaces and coordination 
•    Experience of engineering design delivery, requirements, qualification, standards, handover and quality needs, including use of 3D modelling environment. 
•    Nuclear sector experience, 
•    Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel & data management. 
•    A positive ‘can do’ mentality, self-motivated, setting the right behaviours. 
•    An ability to think laterally and flexibly to deliver solutions, and a ‘process driven’ focus to delivery. 
•    Strong communication skills with their team and external stakeholders. 
•    Has worked at a level, providing accountability for their actions. 
•    An ability to reach sensible compromise positions. 
•    Can demonstrate previous record of success in their discipline, evidenced by examples. 
•    Understanding the needs of nuclear quality and how nuclear quality is assured and controlled.
•    Understand how to apply a graded approach to quality

Additional Qualifications/ Experience:    
•    Degree in engineering (desirable) 
•    Charted / Incorporated Engineer with relevant engineering institute or working towards Charted / Incorporated status (desirable)
•    Nuclear sector experience – nuclear new build environment
•    Basic understanding of the principles of a nuclear power station
•    Good knowledge of CDM Regulations.
