Opportunity for a Lifting & Rigging Black Hat working with ENKA UK on the Hinkley Point C Project,


Main Accountbilities : 

 

  • Planning the lifting operation including all risks with risk assessments
  • Providing instructions to other employees, where necessary
  • Inspect incoming goods and immediate reporting of all/any shortages or damage
  • Supervising all aspects of the lifting operation, where possible
  • Ensure that a proved lifting plans issued by the AP are strictly followed
  • Consulting with Service Provider representative towards GE organization at site
  • Develop and Ensure that lifting appliances and lifting accessories are set up and used in accordance with the Lift Plan and Safe System of Work.
  • Ensure that site conditions, including the proximity of hazards, are as identified in the Lift Plan;
  • Ensure that a risk mitigation plan has been developed and implemented as per procedure;
  • Verify that third-party lifting equipment satisfies regulatory requirements and the requirements of this standard, if applicable;
  • Supervise Blue Hat Supervisors, Rigger and lifting equipment operators where necessary;
  • Ensure that a meeting has been held for Engineered lifts;
  • For each lift, ensure there is a meeting to assess the risks and develop a risk mitigation plan;
  • Write the required lift plans, or assist methods and engineering teams with the writing of plans;
  • Liaise with the lifting service contractor(s), if applicable;
  • Verify whether the third-party lifting equipment satisfies regulatory requirements and the requirements of this standard;
  • Maintain a Lifting Equipment Register to ensure that items are correctly certified and controlled as required by this standard, and have proper identification, including color coding, and co-ordinate statutory inspections and inspections by approved third-parties.
  • Developing and maintaining procedures related to lifting and rigging, 
  • Participating in lifting and rigging accident and incident investigations as the technical authority, 
  • Ensuring all operators are qualified, trained and have been assessed for competency, hold all relevant paperwork and licenses.
  • Responsible for the safe operation of Plant & Equipment and a safe operator working environment.
  • Housekeeping of the work areas; collection, segregation and disposal of wastes as required; removal of unused materials and clear the work floors to eliminate/reduce slipping or tripping risks in your work area.
  • Safe use, protection, storage and care of general maintenance products, hand and power tools


Qualifications/Experience : 

 

  • Enrolment onto ILM Level 3 Certificate C&BE (completion within 6 months of start date or CMI Level 3) 
  • Nuclear Engineering Construction Supervisor (NECS) + LATS or SSSTS or IOSH Managing Safely.
  • CPCS - Crane Supervisor Level 4 & CPCS - Appointed Person Level 5    
  • Level 3 Diploma in Erecting Engineering Construction Capital Plant Steel Structures or Engineering Construction Lifting, Positioning and Installing Structures, Plant and Equipment 
  • Hold CCNSG safety passport or HS&E Test Supervisors
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar position
  • Able to Pass Safety Critical Medical exam
