Opportunity for a HGV/LGV Class 2 Truck Driver (C + CPC + Tachometer Card) working with ENKA UK on the Hinkley Point C Project,


Main Responsibilities

 

  • Examining and assessing loads to determine the best way to move and lift them safely and efficiently.
  • Complete daily check list before moving the truck.
  • Drives vehicle from depot to loading/unloading point.
  • Assists with loading/unloading and obtains receipts for goods collected/delivered.
  • Drives vehicle to destination in accordance with schedule.
  • Undertakes minor repairs and notifies supervisor of any mechanical faults.
  • Not consume alcohol or narcotics immediately before or at any time whilst driving.
  • Do not use mobile phone during driving the vehicle.
  • Operates vehicle in a safe and proper manner and obeys traffic laws and the Project Driving Policies, Standards and Procedures 100% of the time.
  • May position blocks and lashings to secure cargo for delivery. 
  • May be required to complete journey sheets to record destinations, mileage, fuel issues, etc.
  • When driving a passenger car, suburban, pick‐up etc., ensures that he carries no more than the designated number of passengers.
  • Maintains a check on his vehicle for any regular maintenance.
  • Always keep the truck or the vehicle he/she drives clean.
  • Take whatever additional action is necessary to avoid disturbance to residents in the neighborhood. Keep the volume of radio/cassette/CD/MP3 players and VHF radios to a minimum and switch off the engine if required to wait.
  • Housekeeping of the work areas; collection, segregation and disposal of wastes as required; removal of unused materials and clear the work floors to eliminate/reduce slipping or tripping risks in your work area.
  • Safe use, protection, storage and care of general maintenance products, hand and power tools

  • Take care of your own health and safety and that of people who may be affected by what you do (or do not do); 
  • Co-operate with others on health and safety, and not interfere with, or misuse, anything provided for your health, safety or welfare. 
  • Follow the training you have received when using any work items your employer has given you.

 

Qualifications/Experience : 

 

  • HGV Driving License Cat. C (CE is preferable)
  • Holding valid Driver CPC Card + Tachometer Card
  • Can achieve Security Clearance (BPSS)
  • Hold or Can achieve CCNSG Safety Passport or HS&E test Operatives
  • English knowledge in working level
  • Able to pass Safety Critical Medical Test
  • Hold or Can achieve IPAF 3A/3B and Pal Plus and Loading /Unloading certificates
  • Hold or Can achieve Harness Awareness and Work at Height training certificates
  • Hold or Can achieve Tracked Carrier and Stacker utilization certificates
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar position
