The Opportunity


As the Commissioning Environment Compliance Lead, you will ensure environmental management is integrated into project design, procurement, and delivery. You'll identify non-compliance, provide guidance on environmental safety, and coordinate daily management.


Collaborating with teams, you’ll drive adherence to statutory requirements, ensuring smooth operations and effective resolution of environmental issues throughout the commissioning process.

What you’ll be doing

 

  • As the Commissioning Environment Compliance Lead, you will play a vital role in enhancing Environmental Safety performance by managing risks across the Commissioning programme. You’ll establish meetings to plan and review environmental activities aligned with the HPC Safety Management System.
  • You will produce performance reports for the Head of Commissioning Authority, highlighting trends and recommending actions. Engaging with the team on environmental risks, you will support regulatory interfaces and maintain safety risk profiles. By conducting risk assessments and inspections, you’ll ensure compliance with legal duties.
  • Collaborating closely with Health, Safety, and Environmental professionals, you’ll support emergency preparedness and effective Environmental Incident Management. Additionally, you’ll implement environmental management strategies during commissioning and work with stakeholders to mitigate risks in a highly regulated environment, particularly in the nuclear industry.


Who you are

 

  • To thrive as the Commissioning Environment Compliance Lead, you should have a degree or equivalent experience in an Environmental or related discipline. Your excellent communication skills enable you to build strong working relationships within EDF and the construction/environmental sectors. With extensive experience in writing, implementing, and reviewing environmental specifications and risk assessments, you ensure adherence to best practices.
  • You excel at identifying environmental risks and presenting complex data clearly, driving informed decision-making within your team. Chartered membership or relevant experience in site investigation and understanding of nuclear power industry is highly valued. Your commitment to environmental safety will significantly enhance our initiatives and contribute to a sustainable future.
