Construction Manager 

MEH Alliance / NG Bailey 

Hinkley Point C 

 

 

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Provide and demonstrate a positive HSE leadership throughout the whole construction life cycle of their allocated area supporting a positive Nuclear Safety Culture.  
  • Lead, manage and motivate their Project Construction Team through implementation of Best Practice.   
  • Ensure all site activities are undertaken safely and responsibly, and in accordance with the CDM Regulations meeting all internal targets.   
  • Liaison with other MEH Alliance departments for Design, Procurement, Project Management and support functions along with the HPC stakeholders on construction matters.   
  • Ensure compliance with Site Licence Conditions.   
  • Ensuring provision of mature and approved plans for site construction delivery.   
  • Leadership of construction self-delivery operations for site works.   
  • Management of Sub-contractors to ensure effective and efficient delivery of the goods and services they are supplying to the Project.  
  • Ensure self-delivery operations are undertaken with Regulatory compliance, with involvement and support of constructability reviews.  
  • Management of interfaces and construction delivery requirements between multiple discipline site operations.    
  • Representation of construction discipline at client site operations interface level.   
  • Provide input for progress reporting at Construction discipline and Project level.  
  • Ensuring compliance with quality assurance requirements, supporting provision of as built surveys and Lifetime Records.  
  • Interfaces between multiple Alliance partners across all aspects of the project delivery process.  
  • Contribution to budgetary and schedule delivery.  
  • Investigation of non-conformances and fostering a learning organisational approach.  
  • Building a strong and compliant HS&E culture.  
  • Ensuring resourcing undertaken to meet organisational requirements.  
  • Strong focus on team performance, training, mentoring and integration with client and joint venture teams.  
  • Clear understanding of importance of client relationship management in the effective management of projects.    
  • Use of core engineering skills to assess practicalities and risks associated with Construction activities. 
  • Ensure the construction IMS documentation is complete and updated as required   
  • Ensure monthly and weekly reports are compiled and produced in a timely manner for upward review  
  • Ensure productivity reviews are being carried out and reports are available

 

 

 

Qualifications and Experiences: 

  • Relevant Professional Accreditation (PM, Construction, Engineering)  
  • Can achieve Security Clearance (BPSS or Higher)  
  • IOSH Managing safely
  • Proven track record in large scale projects in the nuclear or similar regulated sector, including leading major EPC projects with Profit and Loss responsibility  
  • Experienced in delivering and operating at a Senior Leadership Level, including experience working within Joint Ventures  
  • Experience in safely delivering large scale projects
