Construction Engineer Layout and Access Coordination Engineer Site Wide
The MEH Alliance 
Hinkley Point C 


Accountabilities:     
•    Plan, manage and support the workface access route requirements across the MEH Alliance scope to support the MEH Alliance construction programme with NNB and other parties 
•    Plan and negotiate the access routes for future works to support the MEH Alliance construction programme 
•    Revise routing diagrams for access routes within and external to buildings for current and future works 
•    Share routing diagrams and information within the MEH Alliance construction team and ensure they are displayed out on site to maintain collective awareness of the safe routes 
•    Report issues/concerns with upcoming tasks when they arise to the Building Construction Work Pack, Management Lead 
•    Provide and demonstrate a positive HSE leadership and support to the relevant Building Lead throughout the whole construction life cycle of their allocated area supporting a positive Nuclear Safety Culture.
•    Accountable for Integrated delivery performance to the BCWP Management Lead
•    Ensure all site activities are undertaken safely and responsibly, and in accordance with the CDM Regulations 
•    Coordination and interface management of Access as part of construction delivery requirements between multiple discipline site operations. 
•    Health & Safety Responsibilities: Employees are responsible for ensuring they fully understand the health and safety risks involved in their work activities and their responsibility to apply the controls needed to manage those risks to acceptable levels. Similarly, where work activities can have an adverse impact upon the environment, and particularly where there are legal requirements, employees are responsible for understanding those impacts and the controls they must ensure are applied.

 

 

 

Key Deliverables:     
•    Liaise with the Access building lead to assess and propose the optimum methods of Access required for an activity within a work Area
•    Ensure all activities are executed in line with relevant Standards and specifications. 
•    Use of core experience & engineering skills to assess practicalities and risks associated with Construction activities.
•    Ensure change management is recorded and implemented as per the contract procedure
•    Ensuring compliance with quality assurance requirements, supporting 
•    Action recommendations from Access Lead
•    Identification of risks and opportunities


Minimum Qualifications/ Experience  
(as per MEH matrix) 


Qualifications 
•    Minimum 10 years demonstratable experience in the Access Industry
•    A working knowledge of the following Access related guidelines – NASC / CISRS / CITB Part 2 / CISRS / CITB Advanced / SG4 Training / TG20 Training
•    Relevant Professional Accreditation preferable (PM, Construction, Engineering)
•    Can achieve Security Clearance (BPSS or Higher)
•    IOSH Managing safely Experience
•    Proven track record in large scale projects in the nuclear or similar regulated sector.
•    Experienced in delivering and operating at a management level, including experience working within Joint Ventures
•    Experience in safely delivering large scale projects HNC or equivalent or above.
