Area Lead 

The MEH Alliance / Cavendish Nuclear (Employing Company) 

Hinkley Point C 




Job Responsibilities: 


1.    Provide and demonstrate a positive HSE leadership, building a strong and compliant HS&E culture throughout the whole construction life cycle of the Project. Ensuring all site activities are undertaken safely and responsibly, and in accordance with the CDM Regulations 
2.    Manage the interfaces between the MEH partners and subcontractors to ensure  project delivery 
3.    Lead at a senior level, manage and motivate the Project Construction Team through implementation of Best Practice.  
4.    Manage the planning and execution of construction of a specific area on a day-to-day basis. 
5.    Liaison with all MEH Alliance departments for Design, Procurement, Project Management and support functions along with the Clients stakeholders on construction matters.
6.    Promote and maintain health and safety, including site inspections to ensure safety rules are being implemented in support of a positive Nuclear Safety Culture. 
7.    Ensure compliance with all nuclear safety and site licence requirements 
8.    Ensure weekly & monthly reports are compiled and produced in a timely manner for upward review 
9.    Ensure resource to meet organisational requirements are available in line with the delivery schedule. 
10.    Ensure the project is delivered on time, budget & quality, and reported as per the HPC requirements.




1.    Specific degree or equivalent training and experience qualifications in line with the requirements
2.    Relevant Professional Accreditation (PM, Construction, Engineering) 
3.    Can achieve Security Clearance (BPSS or Higher) 
4.    CCNSG Safety Passport 
5.    IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH



1.    Proven track record in operating at a senior level on a construction site
2.    Proven track record of working in a highly regulated sector, preferably in nuclear
3.    Experience and knowledge of Electrical Safe Systems of Work
4.    Experience working on major construction projects  
5.    Experienced in delivering and operating at Engineer or Senior Engineer level, including experience working within Joint Ventures
