Project Controls Manager

Responsible for providing project financial leadership and support for the project.  The project controller is a key member of the project team and will work directly with the Project Director to help create and maintain the project's budget and schedule, analyse progress reported against the work schedules; and recommend actions to improve progress.


As Project Controller you will be responsible for the following duties:


  • Work as part of the Project Team and with Corporate Finance Teams to prepare budgets, plans, forecasts and financial reports, including project based income statements, balance sheets, tax returns, reports for Government regulatory agencies and other appropriate Project Requirements.
  • Review reports and analyse historical and projected project financial and related metrics.
  • Sales invoicing including Basic General Ledger and Basic Inventory to create, post and print invoices and credit memos.
  • Experience in Purchase Order Management
  • To provide support for Project Control and Commercial team to understand key financials, to provide accurate and timely forecasts and to carry out financial risk assessments
  • Standardize, streamline and control all project costs.
  • Cost capture from procurement, financials, time and resource.
  • Managing alternative cost structures for International resources and resource groups.
  • Managing multiple currencies including payables and receivables, general ledger reports, inventory, and bank accounts.
  • To work with Project Team and with Corporate Finance Teams to drive and deliver Project financial goals.
  • Project revenue - To be able to segment income, cost and O/H streams to provide a detailed understanding of financial return and risks by channel.
  • To look for continuous reductions in O/H and disallowable project costs, and to look to develop improved systems and processes.
  • To provide financial guidance to all stakeholders

Experience & Qualifications :


  • Candidates must have a minimum level of accounting experience with a recognised accountancy qualification such as AAT or ACCA
  • 5 years Project Controller Experience
  • Relevant experience in an organisation that has been involved in the delivery of Industrial/ Energy or related Industries projects.
  • Experience of dealing with Customers and Suppliers
  • Be results driven with attention to detail
  • Experienced with using ERP systems, in particular Navision and IFS.
