Supplier Quality Engineer/Lead Auditor

We have an opportunity for a Supplier Quality Engineer/Lead Auditor working with The MEH Alliance on the Hinkley Point C Project.


Role Overview : 

 

  • Support MEH ALLIANCE Governance Quality Strategy
  • Conduct/lead robust Assessments of the Supply Chain or MEHA Internal Audits, incorporating system based auditing and Subject Matter Expert technical review at the supplier’s or MEHA premises
  • Identify and exploit/mitigate Quality Opportunities and Risks on the project
  • Produce formal reports of the Audit Assessments and manage all follow up/verification activities to close out associated Action Plans 
  • Produce appropriate reports and management information, monitor the output and address any issues arising to drive improvements
  • Challenge systems, processes and working practices to ensure best practice and continual improvement
  • Facilitate Quality related improvement initiatives
  • Lead supplier close out reviews to completion of audit actions .
  • Ensure awareness of the MEH ALLIANCE and HPC Quality Policy and IMS Quality requirements within the Project Team.
  • Develop and roll out appropriate training to the Project Team on their responsibilities with regard to compliance and Quality and to equip them with the skills to drive improvements in Quality performance.
  • Lead and foster a positive Nuclear Safety Culture

  • Triple Bar – Nuclear New Build (or within 2 months of commencement).
  • Able to demonstrate accountability for their own actions and take responsibility 
  • Good communication skills 
  • Additional language skills such as French or Chinese (useful)
  • Able to travel to supplier or MEHA sites as part of the role
  • Clean, full driving licence


Qualifications/Experience : 


Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • Degree in relevant discipline; Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Engineering, Construction (or equivalent functional experience)
  • Experienced Lead Auditor ISO 9001:2015 (certificate of training from a recognised body)
  • Relevant professional Accreditation (CQI, ASQ, IRCA)
  • Can achieve security clearance (BPSS or higher)
  • Base location:    Flexible to suit needs of project. SDC (Bridgwater)base for meetings and collaborative working
  • Proven track record in large scale projects in the nuclear or similar regulated sector
  • Experience in Quality systems auditing and manufacturing / construction & required documentation
  • Flexible auditing skillset with proven recent audit experience (supplier facing to internal audit) 
  • Successful deployment of Quality tools and techniques
  • Proven track record of process and delivery improvements.
